FROG CHORUS
(Years Kindergarten to 2)
Through costume and drama, students discover the frog life cycle and create a chorus of ‘singing’ local frogs. Important aspects of frog habitat and threats to frogs are introduced.

(Years 4 to 7)
This interactive tour of the Australian Bushwalk showcases our unique animals and their habitat requirements.
AFRICAN SAFARI
(Years 4 to 7)
Come on safari and experience the struggle for survival in the African Savannah.
ASIAN TREK
(Years 4 to 7)
During a tour of the Zoo’s Asian Rainforest students learn about the delicate balance within a rainforest ecosystem.
ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS
(Years 8 to 10)
Discover some of the ways animals from around the world have adapted to their surroundings to find and capture food, stay cool, avoid predators or even ambush their prey.
ADAPTING TO AUSTRALIA
(Years 11 to 12)
Examine and compare the adaptations of Australian animals. Students discuss the challenges for survival faced by animals living in a range of terrestrial and aquatic environments including thermoregulation and water balance.
PAST AND PRESENT PRIMATES
(Years 11 to 12)
This presentation examines primate classification, evolutionary trends within the order and adaptations necessary for bipedalism. Perth Zoo’s primate collection acts as a living reference for investigation.
MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO
(Years 11 to 12)
Students discover how the principles of learning (including examples of operant conditioning and positive reinforcement) have been applied to the care and management of zoo animals. Animal social structure and communication is explored through the collection and evaluation of data.
