Habitat: Occupies a variety of habitats including tropical deciduous woodland, mangroves, open wetlands, gallery forest and even suburban areas.
Description: The Yellow-crowned Amazon has bright, lime-green feathers and a distinct yellow patch above its beak. It may also have red or yellow marks under the wings and on its beak.
Diet: The Yellow-crowned Amazon is a herbivore. It eats fruits, nuts, seeds and berries.
In the wild: This parrot nests in the hollows of trees.
Threats: Habitat loss and the illegal trapping for the pet trade are threats to this beautiful bird.
