With births, deaths and animals moving out and coming in, the number of individual animals in the Zoo changes frequently. As at 17 January 2011 there were:
Amphibia - 247 individuals, 9 species
Arachnids – 3 individuals, 1 species
Birds - 245 individuals, 50 species
Fish – 98 individuals, 4 species
Mammals – 326 individuals, 55 species
Reptiles – 339 individuals, 45 species
This makes a total of 1,258 individual animals and 164 species on site at Perth Zoo.
