Wild Ways: Conservation Art Project

Feeling creative? Join Perth Zoo and Access Asia and explore ways of using art to communicate conservation issues. This practical workshop provides ideas and techniques to create a banner with students. Visit threatened Asian animals and find out how to inspire people to take positive action and care for Asian and Australian ecosystems.

Cost: Free. Please bring your own lunch.

Back Stage at Perth Zoo

Venture behind the scenes to learn more about the role of a modern zoo and how exhibits are designed to meet the needs of animals, visitors and keeping staff. Find out how the magic of the Zoo is created and the ways in which it helps to inspire people into conservation action.

Back from the Brink - Conservation Biology

A unique opportunity for secondary science teachers to tour Perth Zoo's Native Species Breeding Program. Participants will hear from scientists and zoo keepers about the successes and challenges linked to working with threatened native species. Participants will also be provided with ideas and resources for teaching conservation biology back in the classroom. This professional learning opportunity is a partnership between Perth Zoo and the SPICE Program.

Cost: $40 (GST inclusive). Teacher relief available, conditions apply

Junior Wildlife Conference

The Junior Wildlife Conference is a celebration of wildlife and conservation at Perth Zoo for students in Years 4–7. Please join us for a day of special talks and group activities to find out how you can take action for a better future for our environment.

Just So!Just So!

Presented by Rough Magic Theatre, Just So! is an exciting journey through jungles and across deserts to discover amazing animal tales like How the Elephant got its Trunk and How the Kangaroo got its Tail. This is a splendid winter treat and a wonderful introduction to the world of theatre for primary school children.
