Tips for fundraising

Perth Zoo needs your help to protect threatened species in the wild.

From school and community groups to work colleagues and friends, everyone can get in on the action and help protect threatened species in the wild - all you need is a little creativity!

To fundraise for Perth Zoo’s Wildlife Conservation Action, you must register your group with Perth Zoo and your fundraising activities must be approved by Perth Zoo prior to commencement.

To help you get started, several ways in which you can help raise valuable funds include:

  • Donating personally through any Commonwealth Bank branch or through Perth Zoo either in person, by phoning (08) 9474 0350, by downloading a donation form or sending a cheque/money order to PO Box 489, South Perth WA 6951.
  • Encouraging your colleagues to have their pre-tax salary direct debited into the Wildlife Conservation Action account: Account number: 19200114   BSB: 066-040. This may be facilitated by your workplace. Read more about Workplace Giving.
  • Collecting donations using Wildlife Conservation Action donation tins.

To encourage team building in your workplace, school or community group or to just get your friends together in support of Wildlife Conservation Action, you could  organise a fundraising event. Some examples include:

  • Casual dress days
  • A walk-a-thon or similar where each participant is sponsored per lap or for participation
  • A pet walk where each participant is sponsored
  • A fete, carnival or trivia night
  • A sausage sizzle
  • A silent auction at your workplace or a garage sale at home
  • A film night at your local cinema or school
  • A photo or art exhibition or competition
  • Ride a bicycle, carpool or catch public transport to work or school and contribute your petrol money to Wildlife Conservation Action

Perth Zoo covers all administration costs for Wildlife Conservation Action, which means that 100% of donations received will be directly contributing to on-the-ground projects such as habitat protection, anti-poaching and anti-logging patrol units, community education, wildlife monitoring and research into threatened species.

Every donation and every dollar helps.

To register your details and your activity please contact Carol on (08) 9474 0359.

To help you on your way, here are some Wildlife Conservation Action items you can download:

Donation tins are also available and we encourage all community groups and businesses groups to display them. Due to restricted resources and to reduce outgoing costs in order to maximise contributions to Wildlife Conservation Action, we encourage you to collect any tins from Perth Zoo, and return them to the Zoo when they are full or when your fundraising activity has finished.

To have your efforts recognised, we encourage you to send in your best photos from your fundraising activity and you could very well beWildlife Conservation Action profiled on the Wildlife Conservation Action Supporter's Page! Simply post them in to Perth Zoo or email them to fopz@perthzoo.wa.gov.au.

Once again, thank you for your valued support. We look forward to hearing from you.
