Distribution: Central and south-west Australia

The Woma is a python found in arid areas across Australia. It uses its head as a shovel to burrow. Unlike other pythons, the Woma has a narrow, pointed head causing it to often be mistaken for a venomous snake.

Black-headed Python

Status: Not listed
Distribution: Northern Australia

Found in a variety of habits from coastal forests to woodlands and the arid interior, the Black-headed Python’s diet includes venomous snakes. This non-venomous snake has a glossy black head that enables the snake to warm itself in the sun while hiding the remainder of its long body.

Status: Least Concern
Distribution: Mid-eastern and south-central Queensland

Leaf-tailed Geckos belong to a lineage of reptiles that can be traced up to 74 million years ago. That have tails that are shaped to look like flat leaves and scales arranged to create a lichen-like marbling effect.
