Perth Zoo's Amphibian Research and Breeding Program

The Global Frog Crisis
As many as 168 amphibian species may already be extinct. At least 34 amphibian species are known to be extinct, while at least another 113 species have not been found in recent years and are possibly extinct.

Perth Zoo's Amphibian Breeding and Research Program
The breeding and research program will address two significant environmental threats to the 78 species of Western Australian amphibians: Chytrid fungus and the cane toad invasion.

Amphibian Ark (AArk)
The emphasis of AArk is to undertake the facilitation of ex-situ action and calls on zoos and aquariums to become involved wherever possible.
